A Good Name.

‘Izlas’ means 'Islands' and reflects my Polynesian roots; it is the 'Island Spirit'. It means mutual regard and affection and caring with no obligation in return; it’s about understand true feeling and emotion and total kindness. That is who I am.

A Truly Unique Style

Focusing on elements such as light, expression, circles, lines, candid moments and things that define you, my approach is very different. Photography is art and I shoot under that premise. You’ll quickly see, looking at the galleries, that it’s not your mother’s photography style.

Experience all over the world.

Each year, I shoot from Mexico up to the Canadian border, from California and Hawaii, back East to New York. This variety simply keeps me fresh and I never approach the same event the same way.

Candid Shooting.

My approach is candid photojournalism with an emphasis on emotion, lighting, and candid moments. I have a team of candid shooters that do an outstanding job at capturing those moments that occur so quickly and are gone in a flash.

Copy Release on Images.

Yes. clients love it! It saves hundreds of dollars and I prefer that you enjoy your entire portfolio throughout your life rather than your pictures sitting on the Izlas harddrive.

You never pay full price.

Because I have been getting booked 6-8 months in advance, I am offering a discount if I have not been booked on your day. Look at the website; look at the images and rates; look at other photographers; then, let me bid your event. You will get a great product with a discounted rate.

A Superb Print Deal.

Other companies make a whole lotta money on prints ~ and I don’t. I allow my clients to print through the professional lab at cost; rather than paying the typical $10 (5x7) or $30 (8x10), you just pay pro lab costs ~ $2 (5x7), $4 (8x10), $10 (11x14) or $20 (16x20). The same applies to the albums I design as well. All professional photographers mark up prices from these low lab rates ~ but you will just pay cost without typical markup with Izlas.

Not your average Grumpy Wedding Photographer.

Happiness is my hallmark. As well, I always plan for a little extra or freebie for each client; I always throw in a little something extra in each package to sweeten the deal; it’s always nice to get taken care of, right?

Photo and Video.

If you are seeking full coverage, we can cover both photo and video. The video is High Definition and looks absolutely stunning. Having a team cover the event guarantees continuity and a fluid experience, start to finish.

Tongan Luau

So I was able to pull some MAJOR stings and fly Vili the Warrior in from the Polynesian Cultural Center; if you've been to the show, he's the 325lbs Tongan drummer. So... following Emily and Drake's wedding, we had a show of shows. Take a peek - it's one of my favorite events- Happy Anniversary to the Fonuas!

Marie and Jake: Ritter Mansion

The rain let up for a few hours, which was perfect timing for this event; radiant, Marie was married this past week to Jake. The weather cleared beautifully for the ceremony and it turned out to be a great gathering with family and friends and the group had a fantastic day.

Courtney and Garrett: Married

My favorite moments of this day were the first dance that Courtney had with her dad and also the solo she had to do as the family tradition. Hilarious!

I love you guys, Courtney and Garrett; you BYU-H fans will recognize Garrett immediately; and meet beautiful Courtney on his arm -- these two are great together, as you can see from these images and video...

I will always be proud of Tina and Soc; they had everything set for a beautiful outdoor wedding, up until the skies opened up and everything had to be moved to a nearby church. I am so impressed that, despite the change of plans at the last minute, Tina and Soc made the most of things - and had a great night surrounded by family and friends--

Heather and Derrick: Bridal/Groomal shoot

I had a great time shooting with Casey McFarland on this one - he's a great man. I had a sticky situation earlier this year and he was so quick to extend his hand of help and support; I have always admired him for being a great photographer and have come to appreciate him as a person even more.

Heather and Derrick picked what I think is a perfect song for their personalities; as you know, music is critical with videography. This Buble song perfectly fits with their fun and upbeat personality.

Jonathan+Becca: Married

So.. I've been sitting here trying to find words to type. I think the world of Jonathan and Becca. Working with you guys has been a delight from day one ~ your words of kindness are so sincere and heartfelt, you make so many people feel like they are worth a million bucks. I just can't thank you two for being you.

Chris was narrowly escaped death when his Subaru was rear-ended by a semi truck on the way to the wedding; after I heard the news -- and knew that he was going to be OK-- I made some quick phone calls (and a few prayers) and we grabbed 2 old associate and they saved the video for today (thanks Nate and Dave - and thank goodness for pre-shoots, right?). And we're so glad you're well, Chris; I bet you're sore today!

Oh - and Jon and Becca -- I think you may win for 'cake of the year'. It was beautiful!
